Skiing With Lauren

Jake and Beth were having an awesome time at ski school, and they were so excited about being in the same group today that we let them do another day of school while Lauren came skiing with us for the first time. We were so impressed at how well she did. We spent the whole morning on the back bowls where there are no green slopes, and she loved it. In the afternoon we moved to the front of the mountain and did some easier slopes, but Lauren always tried to add the fancy bits, like going off into the side trees and tackling the little jumps. Jen was about to have a heart attack half the time. Lauren also loved the "kid features," which were actually some pretty challenging bumpy and windy pathways through the woods. Jen hurt her knee on one of them towards the end of the day. Lauren even attacked some of the moguls on the bottom of some of the black diamond runs.

Skiing in Vail

The kids went to Ski Kamp while Jen and I went skiing with Mike. The weather could not have been better. The skiing and the view were both amazing.

Tubing in Vail

We got to Vail today, but didn't have time to go skiing. Instead, we got settled into our hotel and then went tubing on top of the mountain.

Paoli Peaks

We spent the day skiing in Paoli, Indiana at a place called Paoli Peaks. We wanted the kids to get back into the skiing groove before we go to Vail next week.

Beth Playing Basketball

Beth is playing on a basketball team at the YMCA. Today was her first game. Her team lost 15 to 6. Yes, that means her team scored three baskets the entire game.
