End of the Two Terrible Two's
Today is the big 3rd birthday for Jake and Beth, which means they are now old enough (according to the boxes) to play with all the toys they've been getting for the past year and a half.
Jacob had to go outside to get his big present:
Lauren decided it's pretty hard when both your brother and sister have a birthday to celebrate but you don't:
But she got over it:
And, of course, it wouldn't be a birthday without a party:
We've also added more pictures in Gallery 39.

Art Show
It's getting pretty hard to keep up with all the artwork the kids are making. The pictures are also getting bigger and more three-dimension, so it's hard to even scan it in anymore. We have a huge showcase of their art hanging on the walls. Here's a brief sample. I've also added more artwork to each of the kids' pages.

And this guy, who wasn't made by the kids but who definitely represents the heaviest postcard we've ever recieved, now lives on our walls watching over all of the artwork:

Our New Friend
Look at this guy. He looks like he belongs near a vacation condo in Florida, not in our front yard. The kids were pretty excited to see this guy who must have just moved in. They haven't come up with a name for him yet:

Jacob Tires to Out-Do Lauren
I guess siblings will always try to compete with each other. Jacob had heard the story about the horrible allergic reaction Lauren had to peanuts when she was little, so, of course, he had to try to out-do her. He was on an antibiotic for his ear infection when he decided to have an allergic reaction of his own. Fortunately his was self-limited and didn't require any treatment, but it sure looked awful:
For comparison, here are some pictures of Lauren when she had her rash (for her, though, she had to get emergency treatment and these pictures weren't taken until much later, when she had returned home):
