Grandma's Tree

The kids really wanted to help Grandma decorate her tree. Funny, because they weren't too interested in helping me set up Grandma's tree. Fortunately, despite their best efforts, the kids didn't manage to break anything:

Wait, what's that Lauren's got:

Cincinnati Zoo

We went to see the Festival of Lights at the Cincinnati Zoo with Grandma. Everyone had a great time until, right as we were getting to leave, Beth saw Frosty (a "character") and freaked out.

We were going to use this picture for the Christmas card, but it's a little too dark:

The reindeer fighting the big platic barrel was pretty cool:

Beth's face tells you how she feels about the character (Frosty) she just saw:

Visiting Bucky

We had to go visit Bucky this morning (and see anyone else who might be at Bucky's house). Carole was cooking a turkey (it's the day after Thanksgiving).

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving saw a huge crowd at Grandma's (Something like 25 people) which was really a lot of fun. I didn't take many pictures, and most of those that I did take were pretty bad anyway. Here are a couple that were good:

and, with all of the grandchildren together, we were able to do "the picture" again:

Princess Beth

It was Beth's turn to go to a princess birthday party. As you can see, she's really not that into dressing up...

Bitter Cold End of Soccer

It was 80 yesterday, but a cold front came in and it was near freezing (or so it felt) and raining for Lauren's last soccer game of the season. We also had the party, but it only lasted about 5 minutes because everyone was so cold. She did have a lot of fun and is looking forward to doing this again in the Spring with the same team.

All I Want for the Next Couple of Christmases....

The details of exactly what happened are a little fuzzy to us. Jake was at daycare yesterday and was involved in some sort of accident that involved him falling off the slide (apparently because he was trying to see a "daddy long leg" spider). It seems he used his mouth to break his fall, which, in retrospect, may not have been the best idea. Apparently the school wasn't too bothered by the fact that his front teeth were now bent backwards and his mouth was bleeding, because they didn't bother to tell us about it. It was too late for Jen to get him to the dentist once she did see him. Anyway, he got to the dentist today and it was decided that there was no way to save the teeth, so he had to get both of his top front teeth extracted. He was such a trooper about the whole thing, and the dentist said he couldn't have been a better patient. He's going to be toothless now for about two years or so. Poor guy:

Beth's Soccer Party

Beth's team had a nice end-of-the-season party at the park near the Y. The kids had fun playing on the playground. Her coach said she had the "fastest pair of legs" on the team. Yeah Beth:
